Bamboo Flooring

Bamboo flooring, to those who know it, works very well as a hardwood floor covering. Since there are two different types of bamboo flooring, some people tend to get the two confused, as one type of bamboo flooring is made of wood flooring while the other is made more of a woven-grass flooring. Anyhow, bamboo flooring is a great additional to any room as it’s sturdy and adds a beautiful airy feeling to its space.

Contrary to some beliefs, bamboo wood flooring is actually as durable and resistant as other common hardwood floors are. Bamboo flooring is available in a finished or pre-finished condition and in many different species as well. When looking into bamboo flooring, you should also look into the different species of bamboo as each type of bamboo is unique and can carry different traits in a flooring option. Due to the golden beige color of the bamboo flooring, it usually brings a lightened and airy feel of tranquility to a room. However, bamboo flooring can be stained to a darker tint to match the rest of your décor or to just suit your style. Unlike many other hardwood floor options, bamboo wood flooring is an environmentally friendly source of natural flooring since it is self-sustaining and grows rapidly.

Most bamboo flooring comes pretreated to protect against insect and mildew damage. With pretreated flooring, it’s less likely to become under attack by insects or mold which gives a longer lasting flooring you can depend on. Bamboo flooring is also usually easier to clean than other natural flooring options.
